What the New NDIS Pricing Means for You

From 1 July 2025, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will introduce updated pricing changes and provider requirements. While these updates may feel overwhelming at first, they’re part of an effort to align with national wage standards and improve service quality and transparency across the board.

Support Worker Rates Are Increasing

A key update this year is a 3.95% increase in pricing for support workers and some coordination supports. This reflects national wage and superannuation adjustments.

What this means for you:
You may see slightly more of your Core Support budget used per hour — but you’ll benefit from better support continuity, as providers like us can invest in training and retaining skilled support workers.

Therapy Travel & Session Rates Are Changing

There are new pricing caps that affect therapy providers and travel time:

  • Allied health travel claims are now capped at 50% of the hourly rate, limited to 30 minutes each way.
  • Some therapy rates have been reduced, including:
    • Physiotherapy: Now $183.99/hr (–$10)
    • Dietetics & podiatry: Now $188.99/hr (–$5)
    • Psychology: Now nationally standardised at approx. $223.99/hr

What this means for you:
If you receive therapy supports, you may want to review how sessions are delivered. For example, group therapy, telehealth, or combining multiple appointments into one day may help make your funding go further.

Early Childhood Supports Reminder

While not new in 2025, it’s worth noting that early childhood supports were expanded in July 2023 to include children up to 9 years old (previously capped at 7). This extension continues in the current pricing arrangement.

What this means for you:
If you’re caring for a child aged 7–9, you may be eligible for early intervention services like therapy, developmental supports, and more — reach out to our team to learn what’s available.

New Provider Obligations (But We’re Ahead of the Curve)

As of 1 July 2025, NDIS-registered providers are expected to meet stricter requirements around service delivery transparency, conflict-of-interest management, and compliance.

What this means for you:
Working with a registered provider ensures your care is delivered by an organisation that meets national safety and quality standards.

At DisabilityCo, we’ve proudly been NDIS registered since 2018 — well before it was mandatory for many services. That means we’re not just compliant — we’re experienced, responsive, and focused on delivering meaningful outcomes.

So, What Should You Do Now?

Here are a few helpful next steps:

  1. Review your plan funding with your Support Coordinator or Plan Manager
  2. Ask your providers (like us!) how they’re responding to these changes
  3. Reach out anytime — we’re here to make sure you feel confident moving forward

Let’s Keep Moving Forward, Together

The NDIS is constantly evolving — and so are we. Whether it’s navigating new price limits, improving service flexibility, or advocating for your best outcomes, DisabilityCo is here with you every step of the way.
